Management Directors

William Anderson - President and CEO

Bill Anderson

Mr. Anderson has over 40 years of experience in command control communications and electronics systems in both the private and public sectors.

Within the private sector, prior to joining Cryptek in September of 2005, Mr. Anderson held numerous technical and management position with BAE Systems, DigitalNet, I-NET, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), General Dynamics and Planning Research Corporation (PRC).  In addition, he served as the President of Klein Technology as well as the President of Global Technology Solutions for Perot Systems Government Solutions.

While in the public sector, Mr. Anderson served in senior level positions within the command, control, communications electronics and computer science arena.  He is a graduate of the Defense Systems Management College.  Mr. Anderson also was a Joint Service Program Manager responsible for global deployment of an automation system in support of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force.

Mr. Anderson earned a Bachelors degree from the University of South Florida in Management and Computer Science.  He is also a Certified Acquisition Manager.

Maureen Fitzgerald - Executive Vice President, Administration

Ms. Fitzgerald has over 25 years senior level experience in all aspects of government contracting and IT service businesses.  Her experience includes finance, business operations, procurement, contracts, security, human resources, program management and business development.

Prior to joining Cryptek, Ms. Fitzgerald was the Director, Business Operations of the Federal Acquisition Group at Unisys Corporation, Vice President Human Resources at Perot Systems Government Services (formerly, ADI Technology Corp. & Klein Technology, Inc.) and at NCI Information Systems, Inc. she was the Vice President, Human Resources and Administration and Senior Director, Business Management.

Ms. Fitzgerald earned a dual Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of New Hampshire, a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University as well as numerous certifications.

Independent Directors

Apfel, Ronny (Director)

Ronny Apfel is COO of Thalheim Capital, a Commodity Trade Advisor founded in 2003 and a Market Neutral Equity Fund founded in December of 2005.

He is also a principal and founder of Verticality Investment Group, a venture capital firm - focused on technology- established in 1998. Previously, from 1991-1998, Mr. Apfel was a Managing Director of Union Bank of Switzerland - Head of Trading and Capital Allocation for the Global Equity Derivatives Group. In addition, he worked at First Boston (1990-1991) as a Vice President in Index Arbitrage and was a trader for Susquehanna Investment Group from 1986-1990.

Mr. Apfel received a BS from New York University in 1981.

Greenbaum Sholem (Director)

Mr. Greenbaum is a principal of VAL Investment Group, LLC and Verticality Investment Group, LLC.  Both groups are venture capital firms focusing on investments in private technology companies.

Prior to Verticality, Mr. Greenbaum shepherded numerous real estate, corporate finance and M&A deals to fruition.  Mr. Greenbaum has extensive international experience having completed deals in the US, the UK and the People's Republic of China, as well as structuring various joint ventures with Japanese and Hong Kong partners.  Mr. Greenbaum served as Chairman of One Colorado Inc., a specialty retail real estate development project in California. 

Mr. Greenbaum is Chairman of WaveIP Inc. a Point-to-Multipoint Broadband Wireless Access company, and is on the boards of several private technology companies including; Cryptek, Inc., Arc Systems, xSides, and SciComp. Mr. Greenbaum was on the Board of XMLSolutions until XMLSolutions was sold to Vitria Technology Inc. Mr. Greenbaum is also a Board Observer at several other private technology companies.
Mr. Greenbaum was educated in England, having earned his BSc at Queen Mary College and MSc/MBA at the London Business School.

Gross, David E. (Director)

Mr. Gross is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RaySat Antenna Systems, LLC (RAS), a leading global supplier of in-motion satellite antennas and communications solutions in Vienna, VA.   Mr. Gross has over 40 years of experience developing and selling technology systems for government and industrial markets. 

Prior to RAS, Mr. Gross served as the Founder, President and CEO at Cryptek, Inc. a private computer network security company. Prior to Cryptek, Inc. Mr. Gross co-founded DRS Inc. and served as its President for 25 years. DRS is a diversified defense electronics firm with annual revenues of approximately $3 Billion.

Roberts, David N. (Director)

Mr. Roberts is a Senior Managing Director of Angelo, Gordon and a member of the firm’s five-person executive committee. He joined Angelo, Gordon in 1993. David manages the firm's private equity and special situations area and was the founder of the firm's opportunistic real estate area. David has invested in a wide variety of companies and special situations, including companies in the business services, healthcare services and financial services industries.

Previously, he was a principal at Gordon Investment Corporation, a Canadian merchant bank, where he participated in a wide variety of principal transactions. Prior to that he worked in the Corporate Finance Department at L.F. Rothschild where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Roberts has a B.S. degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania

Schubauer II, James W. (Director)

Mr. Schubauer has 20 years of experience in the investment banking and venture capital industries and has served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Westbury since 1998. Prior to joining Westbury, Mr. Schubauer was a partner and senior member of First Atlantic Capital, Ltd. a private equity fund dedicated to growth capital investments. He was a senior officer and partner of the private equity investment firm Rosecliff, Inc. Rosecliff managed a capital pool of approximately $150 million targeted for middle-market growth capital financings and management buyouts. Mr. Schubauer began his private equity investment career as a principal of Wand Partners, L.P. Founded in 1987 as the private equity investment affiliate of S.G. Warburg & Co.  Mr. Schubauer was a member of CS First Boston's Mergers and Acquisitions Groups in London as well as New York, and a member of Morgan Stanley's Financial Institutions Mergers and Acquisitions Group in New York.

Mr. Schubauer, as President and Chief Operating Officer of Westbury, has direct responsibility for structuring and negotiating the Fund's equity investments and leads the sourcing of investment opportunities. He currently serves as a Director of Advanced Interactive Systems, Aurora Flight Sciences, Cryptek, Partsearch Technologies and Top Layer Networks.

Mr. Schubauer earned his BS in Applied Economics and Business Administration from Cornell University and his MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

Sicoli, Richard P. (Director)

Mr. Sicoli is the Chief Financial Officer of Westbury.  He has 18 years of venture capital, consulting and financial accounting experience. His areas of expertise include due diligence planning and execution, transaction structuring and negotiation, and financial reporting and compliance. Prior to co-founding Westbury more than ten years ago, Mr. Sicoli served as an Accounting Manager for Price Waterhouse LLP, one of the world's largest financial services firms.

At Westbury, Mr. Sicoli is a senior investment professional actively participating in the origination, evaluation and structuring of new investment opportunities, as well as the monitoring of existing portfolio companies. Since co-founding Westbury I in 1995, he has played a primary role in the execution of all of Westbury's transactions. Mr. Sicoli is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Comet Learning and Cryptek, and serves as Board Observer representing Westbury's interests in Invidi Technologies and Visiprise.
Mr. Sicoli is a New York State Certified Public Accountant and earned his BBA in Accounting from Hofstra University, where he graduated in the top one percent of his class.

Boorstein, Martin B. (Observer)

Mr. Boorstein has been a principal in Walden Partners Ltd., a merchant bank, since 1992 and, more recently, a founder of Walden Capital Partners. He serves as director or board observer for several companies including Outlast Technologies, GlobalServe, Cryptek, RemoteReality and Agilence.

In 1988, Martin, as part of an investor group, purchased IM Management Corp., a company that managed a mortgage portfolio of over $800 million, which he operated from 1988 to 1991 as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to, he managed the fixed income and fixed income arbitrage divisions of Rothschild Inc. where he also became active in corporate finance and venture capital. In 1979, he and an investor group purchased and managed QM Productions, a television production company, which they subsequently sold to Taft Broadcasting Company.

Mr. Boorstein began his Wall Street career in 1966 at E.F. Hutton & Co. where he became Fixed Income - National Product Manager and was responsible for the creation of many innovative products.

Mr. Boorstein earned his B.S. at Tulane University and he is a member of the Executive Committees and Board Member of the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (Nassau NY) and of the Nassau A.H.R.C. Foundation.
